J. Skinner Baking Invests in Quality and Engineering

OMAHA, NEB. (October 10, 2023) – Today, The J. Skinner Co. (J. Skinner) announced recent additions to their leadership team. Art Aguilar has joined the bakery manufacturer as the Vice President of Engineering and Lenny Ogomo has been hired as Vice President of Quality Assurance.

“As we continue to grow, we have added world-class talent across our organization over the past year, and bringing Lenny in to oversee our quality assurance team will allow us to provide high-quality, reliable, and safe products for our consumers,” said Audie Keaton, President and CEO at J. Skinner. “Bringing Art back to J. Skinner to lead our engineering team will help us add automation, ensure mechanical reliability, and continue to invest in sustainability across our operations.”

With almost 20 years of maintenance and engineering experience, 16 of those in the food and beverage industry, Art Aguilar returns to J. Skinner, where he previously worked for four years in engineering leadership roles. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience, including lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, continuous improvement, and holds his SQF Practitioner license, He earned his Bachelor of Industrial Engineering from Iberoamericana University and his Mechanical Engineering degree from Universidad De Las Americas in Puebla, Mexico.

Lenny Ogomo returns home to Omaha, bringing with him more than 20 years of experience, including Quality Assurance management roles at both Creminelli and Chobani. He also is a member of the International Association of Food Protection. Lenny received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Nebraska at Kearney and his Master’s in legal Studies from the University of Utah’s SJ Quiney Law School.

J. Skinner Baking Invests in Product Development and Innovation

OMAHA, NEB. (August 22, 2023) – Today, The James Skinner Co. (J. Skinner), one of the premiere bakery manufacturers in the U.S., is proud to announce the hiring of Agust Gunnarsson as Master Baker and Olivia Torczon as Director of Product Development.

“Consumers and our retail partners demand quality, consistency, and innovation in baked goods, and that demand continues to grow,” stated Audie Keaton, President and CEO of J. Skinner. “Adding Agust and Olivia to our team allows us to meet the short-term needs of consumers and allow us to lead innovation for high-quality bakery items for years to come.”

Olivia Torczon brings 14 years of experience in food science, brand development and product commercialization. She most recently worked on the Member’s Mark Private Brand team at Sam’s Club, including Senior Manager of Product Development for the in-club bakery and Senior Product and Brand Manager in deli and freezer.

Agust Gunnarsson is a member of the International Master Baker’s Guild with more than 25 years of baker research, development, production, and consultation, most recently working as the Vice President of Research and Development Master Baker at Epi Breads. Agust received his Master Baker education at the University of Iceland and Baker and Fine Pastry education from the Culinary Institute of Iceland.
